Stuarts Point offers the perfect location to immerse yourself in nature, stroll through the coastal forests and national parks with the endless trail options. For a short work, wander across the timber footbridge, accessible from the park, to the beach and explore the sand dune, mangroves and paperbark forests. For a longer walk, choose to meander through the banksias and eucalyptus or stroll along the beach to Grassy Head. Set on the upper banks of the Macleay River, Stuarts Point is the perfect location to spend the day swimming, kayaking and canoeing in the crystal-clear, protected waters. You can easily spend hours exploring the river and linked estuaries with over 298km to be discovered. Located a short two-minute walk from the park is also a long golden stretch of beach. Feel the sand between your toes before diving into the calm waters of Stuarts Point Beach. A great choice of beach, river and jetty fishing sports await around Stuarts Point. There is no shortage of species on offer with bream, whiting, flathead, blackfish, mullet, stingray and mud crab, all frequent catches in the riverways. Snapper and jewfish can also easily be caught off the beach. At low tide the mudflats provide an excellent chance to gather fresh bait with yabbies, sandworms and whitebait all available. If you looking to enjoy a day of exploring the local area there are a number of attractions throughout the Macleay Valley Coast that are a must visit. Located less than 40 minutes from Stuarts Point Holiday Park is the Smokey Cape Lighthouse and the Trial Bay Gaol. The lighthouse is the highest in New South Wales and offers stunning 360-degree views of the coastline and hinterland areas. Make sure to pack a picnic with a great spot to set up located just before you begin the lighthouse walk.
